Muscle Strain
A muscle strain in the neck occurs when the muscles or tendons in the neck are overstretched or torn, often as a result of sudden movements, overuse, or poor posture. This type of injury can cause discomfort and stiffness, making it difficult to move the neck or perform daily activities. Muscle strains in the neck are commonly caused by activities like lifting heavy objects, sleeping in an awkward position, or spending extended periods in poor posture (e.g., working at a computer or looking down at a phone for long periods).
While neck muscle strains are usually not serious, they can cause significant discomfort and may take time to heal. Early treatment and proper care can help reduce pain and prevent further injury.
