Whiplash

Whiplash is a neck injury that occurs when the head is suddenly jerked forward and then backward, creating a rapid, whip-like motion. This sudden movement can strain or tear the muscles, tendons, and ligaments in the neck. Whiplash most commonly results from car accidents, particularly rear-end collisions, but it can also occur from sports injuries, falls, or physical trauma.

Whiplash can cause a variety of symptoms that may appear immediately or develop over the course of a few days following the injury. While many cases of whiplash resolve with proper treatment, severe or untreated whiplash can lead to chronic pain or long-term complications.
